Updated: Apr 15, 2020

Below is the recipe for our Cab Franc BBQ sauce. I love this on smoked beef short ribs, but its also great on pork ribs or grilled chicken thighs.

Cabernet Franc Icewine BBQ sauce

1 medium onion, diced

2 garlic cloves, minced

2 tsp. olive oil

1 tbsp. ground coriander

1 tbsp. sweet paprika

1 tbsp. smoked paprika

1 tbsp. Chili powder

1/2 cup Cabernet Franc Icewine

1/2 cup ketchup

2 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce

2 tbsp. Molasses

Salt and pepper to taste

Makes roughly 2 cups of BBQ sauce

Place 2 tsp, of olive oil in a medium sauce pot over medium heat. When hot add onions and garlic.

Stirring frequently, cook until the vegetables are just tender (Roughly 3 minutes).

Add dried spices, cook until spices are lightly toasted and aromatic (Roughly 1 minute).

Add remaining ingredients and adjust your heat to the lowest setting. Simmer for 20 minutes, or until the vegetables are completely cooked and the sauce has reduced slightly.

Cool and puree in a blender.

Adjust seasoning with salt and pepper.

Store in airtight container in the fridge. Sauce will last up to two weeks.
